Save a Word

Filed under: Uncategorized —— trankin @ 9:22 am

I adopted the word cibosity at Save the Words. While finding more about what it means i found out that it means a place where you can store food. This word is not use mostly around here. But when you adopt a word for Save the Words you are saving it. I hope this post will have readers to use the word cibosity in their blogs or in a conversation. The children kept a whole cibosity of food in their rooms before they went to school. When they got home from school they went up to their rooms and ate the food before dinner. I know that my friends will all be confused about what I had just said but I will help them figure out the meaning. Maybe one day they will know what it means when you want to hid a cibosity of something.

Follow up on Ethiopia

Filed under: Uncategorized —— trankin @ 10:19 am

What I have learned about Ethiopia is that people that live there live differently than we do. They have a different government than we do. They have some different religions. They also speak differently than we do. They also have an overall different lifestyle than we do.

I think it is very important that students learn a lot about people in other cultures on our planet. Because what if they wanted to go to another country and they didn’t know anything aobut it. They would probably research it on the internet. Because you never know what the peoples life style is or what language they speak. Then when they go to that country that they were researching they will know enough to communicate with them.

I do think that America has a responsibility to help countries that are struggling with famine, war, disease and other issues. Because we have such a good organization that goes down to fight in the war and help people with diseases. When Hurricane Kartina hit a lot of our soldiers went down to help the people that lost every thing. Also nurses and doctors help people with diseases. There are so many people all over America that help different countries that are struggling with different kinds of stuff like that.

Review of Hotel Rwanda

Filed under: Uncategorized —— trankin @ 9:45 am

Hotel Rwanda is a true story that is directed by Terry George. In the movie you may be familiar with some famous actors and actresses. Nick Nolte played as Colonel Oliver, Sophie Okonedo played Tatiana Rusesabagina, and Don Cheadle plays Paul Rusesabagina. Hotel Rwanda is a movie about a hotel manager named George Rutaganda. He saves his family and along with other Tutsi’s during their struggle against the Hutu militia in Rwanda. The length of the movie is 121 minutes and the rating is PG-13. The actors performance was very well acted. The people that they picked for this movie were really good actors and actresses. The biggest impact of the movie was seeing the Tutsi’s get killed by the Hutu militia. I think that this movie was excellent. I made me think about what it would be like during that time. That would be really harsh. The Tutsi’s had a very hard life because they had to go through with all of their families getting killed by the Hutu’s. I can remember the scene where one fot he army guys wanted Paul to shoot his family. But then Paul convinced the army guy that he would give him money.
